Ring Battery Doorbell Plus

Scored on 6 verified owner verdicts, from 367 comments read across 4 communities
TL;DR
Owners are split on the Battery Doorbell Plus: the battery itself gets solid marks, with several people going four to eight weeks on a single charge without dipping below roughly half power. But a meaningful and vocal minority is unhappy with video quality, describing the picture as shockingly bad or a clear step down from their old Gen 1 Ring doorbell — several tried Ring's troubleshooting (corner kits, replacement units) with no improvement. Beyond that split, scattered individual complaints show up around charging speed, the solar mount accessory, and occasional fast battery drain, though none of these recur often enough to call a consistent pattern. Overall, buyers seem more confident in the battery engineering than in the camera's actual image quality.

50% of 6 verified owners recommend the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

I installed a Ring Battery Doorbell Plus 8 weeks ago. No wires or solar charger. I haven’t recharged the battery since installing it, and the app says it’s still at 48% charge.

the doorbell had trouble identifying a package if it had shadows over it such as from leaves or fence slats, whereas on overcast days it had much greater success.

This doorbell takes up a lot of space compared to others!

After four weeks of use the battery level was at 60 per cent, with recommended settings (which included having HDR switched off too) - except motion sensitivity tweaked up slightly and package sensitivity up to the maximum.

My new battery doorbell plus video quality is horrible. My RSSI is -36. Ring sent me a corner kit to angle the camera away from the wall next to it saying that was my problem. I installed and no change. They sent me a new doorbell and it’s no better. My old Gen 1 Ring doorbell was clear as a bell but I wanted the new features. Big mistake!!

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

Bad mistake on your part that would have been very easy to do!!! Drilling extra holes in brick is no fun!

Was at 95% now down to 92%, but even when i first got it, and first charged the battery, i could never get it to go 100%. i may just got an extra battery and charging station, and if i ever need to swap, i’ll have a charged battery ready to go.
