My shoulder season bag is the women's marmot trestles elite eco 20°F (note the men's temp rating is different). It's great, again not ultralight being synthetic, but it packs down small for the temperature, is cozy, and not super heavy. I think it's the best for that category without going for down.

I got a synthetic marmot trestles elite (womens), comfort rated for 21F and it was def not. I slept in 32 and was freezing so bad i had to go sleep in my car.

This bag is worth every penny in mountaineering as well as if people are going to cowboy camp in cold temperatures.
