“Have one, love it, great value and sound.”
“I recently returned an Onkyo NR6100 because the sound was thin and overly bright with my 4 ohm PMC speakers. I suspect it would have sounded better with 8 ohm speakers, but I couldn't test this. Otherwise, the Onkyo was fantastic from a feature and usability standpoint. Wish I could have kept it.”
“Bought a new one (TX-NR6100 practically identical some people refer to yours as the “Costco” variant)and had nothing but issues (HDMI signal appearing the same as your 2nd picture and complete loss of signal) Returned for a replacement and the 2nd one did the exact same.”
“I have the NR6100. It’s a great receiver at the price point! I loved it for a while but found myself needing more power with a speaker upgrade. I’m sure you know but without pre-outs that’s not possible”
“I own an NR6100, if I could do it again I would have upgraded to something with Dirac built-in.”
“My center channel (Elac unifi 2.0 uc52) literally came to life, maybe that one was a little bit power hungry with the Onkyo but the Yamaha Aventage receiver completely unveiled the s”
“It works perfect for 4k 120hz dobly vision without any flickering. Now the sound on the denon after calibration sounds better than the sound on the onkyo after calibration.”
“I have a Onkyo TX-NR6100. It has been great, 7.1 channel, I am running 5.1.2 on it. I have a LG C1, Xbox series x and a 4k fire stick on it and all run great.”
“I had the NR6100 and it was nothing but problems. I'd turn it off at night only to turn it on in the morning to no sound. I would have to go through the whole set-up process for the receiver to work.”
“TS has no idea why zone 2 won’t produce sound and all audio continues to go through FR and FL. I returned the POS and am going back to my 12+ yo Sony STR-DE597!”
“Is the YPAO room correction using an old Yamaha RX-V671 from 2012 really that superior to the Onkyo NR6100 with Accu Eq? These are the same speakers minus the SVS sub I was using on the old receiver and it sounds night and day better.”
“I'm no expert, but I just got the onkyo nr6100 and am happy with it so far.”
“Just scored this second hand for $350 AUD. Love it so far.”
“the NR6100 I had was fine for music but abysmal for movies. I guess to each their own, but I don’t think I’ll ever buy an Onkyo again.”
“But it does become clear that the amp channels struggle to dig deep into bass elements, often coming across a bit 'one-note' rather than rich and supple.”
“While it's a great sounding receiver, in my opinion it doesn't live up to the hype of being one of the best in it's price range for streaming.”
“I had a Dennon which I liked but went to an Onkyo TX-NR6100 that had full 120hz 4k support for gaming and no compatibility issues/bugs.”
“I'm going to give the 6100 a couple more days, see if I can figure something out but I think I'll probably be going back to the "old girlfriend."”
“I've got the Onkyo TX-NR6100 7.2 ch THX Certified Smart Receiver, and it has been a straight up joy to own. It's advertised as a 7.2, but it is an Atmos receiver as well, and will do anything from 2.0 (stereo) on up to 5.1.2 Atmos”
“When using the cable TV box and I change the channel, I get a popping sound out of the front right speaker.”
“seems to do very well for sound, but agree on lower volume settings it is a bit muffled. anywhere from 35-40 and up is fine.”
“I too purchased an Onkyo TX-NR6100, and I honestly could not be happier with it since doing so! However, like many people who are into home theater, but who are always catching on to, and learning new things as they go, I had not realized when I purchased it”
“Mine stopped working when trying to connect using the 8k enhanced to do 4k at 120hz for the Xbox Series X.”
“Bought the Onkyo NR6100, and now VRR on PS5 works perfectly even though Onkyo is supposed to be an “inferior” brand.”
