    I've noticed an irritating modulated hiss or hum, predominantly during quiet scenes in movies or when navigating menus - essentially whenever the unit is receiving a blank audio source.

    Sony az7000es is a great AVR. I paid $2200 and I'm very happy with the purchase.

    With the AZ7000ES? It is really good. I bought that system because you can use the wireless sub and surrounds that Sony makes. Incredible system!

    Last night however while watching a recorded TV show it suddenly rebooted with a loud and I mean loud bang that I thought came from the right surround speaker. While waiting for the “Please Wait” to end I noticed one of my subs (SVS SB 16 Ultra) was not on. Sure enough whatever happened caused it to shut down. Wouldn’t come back on last night.     Personally I would stick with the Sony , reasons being is that it’s the most dynamic with punch that I’ve not experienced with any other receiver brand including my beloved Anthem .

    The STR-AZ7000 is rated at 150 watts per channel with 2 channels driven. It will be less wattage with all 13 channels driven, but it's still more than enough power to run most setups.
