I like it way way better than my Shimano SLX DC too! So buttery smooth I spread it on my toast. No bird nest even in high winds.

I have this reel, and haven't had any problems! But I will say, it won't cast any light lures far!

i got it and i have it completely open and it's fine

I also have the shimano slx DC that casts a city mile and is better at skipping. However I do like the feel of the tatula a lot more and I feel like I have better control with it.

I've had no problems with it , caught monsters with it especially frogging

Bruhhh these reels are fine

the Daiwa Fuego! It's my favorite reel and i own top end Tatulas and a Shimano SLX DC. I'd imagine it's the best $100 you can spend on a casting reel.

it's not my favorite but it's not bad for the money

definitely not a frogging reel. but it should be good for an all rounder for everything else!

I absolutely love mine. I can cast mine a country mile and have never had an issue with backlash.

I have both a shimano slx dc and a diawa tatula 100 and I will recommend the tatula ever single time. I got caught fishing in the rain once and it screwed up my dc braking for a good month or two.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

The DC is actually junk, I can cast further on regular baitcasters and it birds nest still during mid cast

Shimano SLX DC works pretty much the same. I have other baitcasters that work just as well. I honestly just like the sound the dc’s make.

I have the SLX DC XT 71. Amazing little reel.

I picked up the SLX MGL 70 last winter, love the dang thing.

I have enjoyed them all but the magnetic brakes on similarly priced Lews and Abu Garcia products are definitely friendlier overall.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

it don't seem to want to go out very far I have my brakes set when you push the button the lure will slowly fall to the floor it's like when I cast something is holding it back

YouTube▲ recommend

It’s great the reel had no problems

I have two Shimano SLX DC reels and you’re basically paying $200 for a $100 reel. It’s just the regular SLX with a DC chip. The are not at all as durable as the Curado series.

found the slx xt 151hg on clearance for $95... I was stoked!!

You are right on with the long cast over spin but works great for target casting a Suqarebill

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

I don't like the idea of a machine controlling how far I cast so I'll stick with a regular baitcaster.

Redditⓘ good to know

I have a sub 100 dollar lews reel that casts almost as nice as my 200 dollar shimano slx dc

Redditⓘ good to know

I'm new to my baitcasting setup. got the shimano slx dc reel. the only backlash i've had on there was something similar. luckily i caught it pretty quick

Redditⓘ good to know

I started with the Daiwa Fuego and I still use it after getting a Shimano SLX DC.

Redditⓘ good to know

I run 30 Lb braid on my shimano SLX DC and I do get the occasional backlash. I want to say it’s my line because it’s some cheap Amazon line but jeez I never backlash with flouro.

Redditⓘ good to know

I have thrown 4 oz in a Shimano SLX DC 150 and it works. But going with a Tranx definitely feels more comfortable to throw heavy lures with.

Bass Resourceⓘ good to know

I fish SLX DCs and Curado MGLs (mainly). I had a Curado DC but FOR ME, I didn’t see the benefit of the extra $70 over the MGL. However, it is a cool sound, but I find myself fishing more and more with my Curados…

Redditⓘ good to know

DC doesn’t seem to help prevent the bad stuff as much as it helps prevent the bad stuff from being really bad.

Redditⓘ good to know

You can learn by putting the brakes down on the Dc reel so you challenge yourself not to birdsnest.
