What owners flag
    Who it's for
    A great fit if
    • Bass anglers spooling baitcasters with 30 lb braid
    • Inshore and offshore fishers wanting one versatile line
    • Anglers who prize smooth casting and zero line memory
    • People who want strong, fine-diameter braid for bite feel
    Look elsewhere if
    • Finesse spinning setups with light 10-15 lb braid (wind knots)
    • Anglers wanting the thinnest, most supple braid (it runs stiff)

Powerpro braided line. I never ever had diawa j braid snap on me. Powerpro seems to be every spool.

Power Pro is okay if you don't much about line

I have been buying power pro. It is smoother and casts better than some of the other braids

Where Power Pro is overrated: spinning reels with light braid. The 10 and 15-pound Power Pro on a finesse setup will give you wind knots and line memory that an 8-carrier line just does not produce. Skip it for that job.

I agree, Power Pro V2 is definitely the best for the smoothness and less digging

    Reddit— neutral

Power pro is another option but not the best for casting.

    Reddit▲ recommend

Combined it with powerpro braided line. Smoothest casting I've ever felt.

    Hawaii Nearshore Fishing▼ don’t recommend

Powerpro is a very stiff line and has a significantly wider diameter than Sufix 832 . Powerpro is not necessarily a bad braid, and some like it, however many have had problems with Powerpro snapping randomly on the cast.

ITS TRASH they changed something you get a bit set the hook and nothing no pop no snap it just gone absolutely trash

excellent for trout in the stocker lakes

I am using power pro.. It's very nice

I tried PowerPro 65lb and it was pure garbage on my reel. It’s cable wire? Very stiff

    YouTube▼ don’t recommend

I don't like the waxy coating that gets all over and in the rod and reel

    Works awesome!

    YouTube▼ don’t recommend

powerpro is overrated in my book. way too thick for its line rating

    Reddit▲ recommend

I use PowerPro Braided line (30lb) in bright yellow, tied to a 17lb Berkley Trilene leader. The mono is used for a bit of stretch and so the line isn't as visible, but the braid makes it so I can feel EVERYTHING

    Reddit▼ don’t recommend

I have had random break-offs with Power Pro in the past, though.

you might consider trying powerpro braided line. the packaging features something called ez spool, that i've never had a problem with.

    Reddit▲ recommend

I personally like using PowerPro braided line. It's been reliable for me, casts smoothly, and has good abrasion resistance.

    Reddit▲ recommend

I run 30lb powerpro braided line on all my baitcasters for bass. Some people use heavier line for top water in case they have to pull in a Lilly pad or something but I like the casting distance and capacity of the lighter line. 30lb is still plenty.

    YouTube▲ recommend

It’s great for the price and it cast very well. Not to mention it hold knots well and it’s super strong!

    YouTube▲ recommend

Top 5 braids in my experience is, berkley x9, j braid grand, power pro, varivas and sufix 832.

    Reddit▲ recommend

Throw some 8lb PowerPro braided line on - purely because it casts well and has no line memory

    Redditⓘ good to know

I found that when I switched to braid I was getting less attention from fish than when I use a braid-flouro/mono knot as well as a swivel and a second leader.
