“Everything about this headset is on another level, was blown away by the comfort, sound, mic, and noise canceling. But the lack of game/chat balance on PS5 is a dealbreaker for me”
“If you only game on Consoles, Play for over 3hrs in a single sitting, and/or want a set for TV use, then grab the 1st gen H9s. They're better for those needs and over $100 cheaper”
“literally overnight by themselves, they were fine when I went to bed and in the morning they were falling apart. I don’t think they changed anything.”
“I am extremely disappointed in this product as the name implies this is a direct sequel and not a spiritual successor to the original H9's.”
“H9 II are not perfect, they are actually too light and feel cheap. But microphone is MILES ahead of my Maxwell, the ANC is nice and the simultaneous bluetooth/dongle is flawless.”
“Idk, loving them so far and never had a problem with the 3d pulse or the elite and for $130 think I'll be ok.”
“the H9 is comfortable and the audio quality and noise canceling is good beating out all other headsets I tried out. The price is nuts and the easily ripped leather are the main downsides”
“They’re great! A bit snug but for me the Audio quality versus the original H9s is just so good.”
“it's durable is worse than my Hyper X Cloud Flight, which the leather lasted for 2 years and no technical issue yet.”
“The head cushion on mine came off completely within 6 months of use and then they just stuck it back on with some glue and called it a repair.”
“I’ve had mine since launch and they’re a noticeable improvement over the first version.”
“That's definitely a SONY crappy build you would think they are quality oriented. TEMU headsets are glued better.”
“The sound and comfort of the headset itself is really good and feels like a cheaper version of their flagship audio headsets.”
“I upgraded from Pulse 3D to the Sony Inzone H9 and I absolutely love my Inzone H9.”
“Never thought Sony could be such a shitshow considering the quality of my older XM4 and other products.”
“Just adding to this conversation having owned this for 3 months and using it daily for WFH. It's a goldlilocks headset really”
“Structurally it is a better headset because Pulse Elite cracks and breaks easily.”
“The XM6 gives you way better noise cancellation, sound quality, and comfort for the same price.”
“Worst headphones ever anything PlayStation Related besides the consoles are trash to be honest”
“Great headset if youre looking for fit, comfort, and versatility. Not a great headset if you're looking for sound quality.”
“absolutely love it, XM5 for work/outside and H9 for long run gaming purpose.”
“I liked Inzone h9 more wrt to the Spatial Audio.. so went with that”
“I love my first gen H9’s, but it baffles me that volume control from the Edge controller doesn’t work with them.”
“Currently waiting on my 3rd pair from Sony the first 2 sets both didn’t last 4 -5 months.”
Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.
“They have the same drivers, but they don't sound anything like the XM6, unfortunately. https://www.soundguys.com/sony-inzone-h9-ii-review-xm6-sound-in-a-gaming-headset-not-quite-142782/”
“Do you have the eq you’re currently using? Would be keen to eq them as well since they sound quite dull for music, imo. I’m assuming you’re using something like Peace APO for equaliser?”
“Take a small flat head and use it to pry open between the black plastic and white plastic on top. There’s basically some clips in there that are sort of gripping the fake leather material.”
“Same here, just ordered my 3rd one. I am complaining though, I don't really want to send one back, receive a new one. It's a hassle. Is it too much to ask to replace with a different model?”
“Are you aware of the Inzone H9 II? They’re superior to the first version’s build and sound quality. They don’t have a pleather band. It’s nylon and it won’t deteriorate.”
“It’s held down by a bunch of clips and I don’t think they use glue but more of a cheap double sided tape. Used crazy glue to hold it down where the cheap tape was used.”
“The Sony Inzone H9 ii is like half the weight of the Audeze. The Audeze is like 480 grams and the Sony is around 270. I know this is an old post but thought id share.”
“I just had the same issue and after capslock yelling and cussing and quoting the written warranty after they initially denied me, they are now sending a replacement.”
“Hey OP, the same thing happened to me with my headset and Sony customer support gave me a similar response. Were you able to get it fixed by them? What happened?”
“Bonjour à toi, je viens de voir ton poste car j'ai le même soucis. Comment a tu démonter le casque je n'ai trouvé aucune vidéo sur le sujet malheureusement...”
“Eh, teardown looks like their isn't much depth to the earpads. And there isn't a foam covering the driver baffle like there is on the XM series. Super annoying. Will wait for Joe's (GadgetryTech) review.”
“It is actually very common in Sony's premium line of Headphones, XM6 and XM5 do this after like 10 times of putting them on and off. It's not a defect, no.”
“I have been tossing up between these 2 headphones (for PC) and where I live I am having trouble finding a place to try them. How do you rate both head phones, having owned both do you prefer 1 over the other?”
“I just got my replacement i was having the same issue. Anyone here can confirm if they got a new replacement if the new one has the problem fixed? Or did they just sent me a new one prone with the same issue?”
“I have this same exact issue and I’m trying to see what to do about it… I bought mine from Best Buy, but I didn’t buy their warranty. Now I wish I did…”
“i am saving to get one of them actually. wondering, have you ever tried to used the xm5 as a gaming headset? how it is perform compared to the h9? will the you able to pinpoint enemy location well with both headset?”
“For being shitty glue tape, it's being a PAIN IN THE ASS TO TAKE OFF TO PREP FOR NEW GLUE Thank you u/mbernal4007 for making me do this at 230 am”
“That's a bummer on the ps4 support. You wouldn't think it would be hard to integrate. I had in the past thought about the h9's but the pleather issues kind of made me shy away. The mic on this version can be removed thankfully.”
“For people who don't know, they use the same drivers as the XM6's, which are also from Sony and easily one of the best consumer headphones (that aren't audiophile grade) on the market right now. Part of why they're so expensive.”
“same, mine also, i claimed once warranty. but i dont know what the hell they fixed during 2 weeks time. and now came off again. FML”
“Does anyone know what the part# is for the replacement piece? I'm not spending $30 for a guide that should come with the headset.”
“Hey, just happened to mine and found this thread. How do i self-repair this... how do I insert the leather back between the white plastic top and the bottom black plastic? I tried looking for a video online but couldn't find any :(”
“This is so disappointing to hear.. It's incredible how Sony's own headset doesn't support PS5 while the previous generation did.”
“Just had the problem this morning. It was on my desk perfectly fine and overnight I see that it became undone just like in OP's picture But by now it seems like Sony got the message and immediately offered an exchange for a new unit”
