The surround sound is actually quite remarkable in some games, not only will I hear footsteps, but what it's like I can feel where they're coming from.

it’s awful, if anyone knows how to even fix that, pls do reply. Other than that the versatility to customize the bass and other things is great.

Yeah man my dongle takes like 20 minutes of trying to connect and reconnect sometimes when I need to use it and I'm f****** sick of it, same dongle same headset.

Reddit— neutral

The sound quality isn't as good as othe head phones for the same price, but the mic is excellent and it worked flawlessly with my PC.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

My Nova 7s often take 3-5 attempts to pair to the dongle now, leaving me frustrated more often than not when hopping into a chat with friends.

Reddit▲ recommend

have arctis nova 7 gen 2 and it's just a great headset, by far the best I've had out of other Logitech and razer options in the same price range

Reddit— neutral

I did update few days and audio is still fine but I did notice slight Bluetooth audio cutout when some twitch videos play

Reddit▲ recommend

Returned it as soon as the Nova7's arrived yesterday. Hate to loose some of the features vs the Pro's but so far very pleased.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

I got them and was disappointed with g How uncomfortable they were. Had to buy wicked cushions which helped but I wouldn't recommend them.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

the headset keeps showing as "Not Connected" even when it's on, though sound still comes through if I manually force the output switch.

Reddit▲ recommend

With the Nova 7, if the battery dies you can still plug a 3.5mm cable and continue using it, which is super useful honestly

Reddit— neutral

sound is really good and mic is also solid but for me the issue is after like 4 hours with them my ears hurt like hell

Reddit▲ recommend

Swapped from artics 9 its so good comparing the artics 9 amazing quality especially with the software that comes with it

Reddit— neutral

The 7s have simultaneous audio, meaning you can listen to your game audio, and something from phone etc.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

Mine started to get noticeably worse over the course of a week or 2 after the update where I now have to charge it twice a day.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

For me, battery life is really terrible since the update. my headset wont last a single day now fully charged...

Reddit▲ recommend

I feel like the Nova 7 hits the sweet spot for what most people want in a gaming headset these days.

Reddit— neutral

they block out noise pretty well, def not as good as true noise cancelling but it's pretty acceptable.

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

I've updated yesterday, today I can't use chatmix, it says to use artics nova 7 gen 2 but I own the gen 1 vers

Reddit▲ recommend

being able to use the app to change EQ is a great feature instead of having to plug it into a PC.

Reddit— neutral

Base definitely lacks when I use my fps shooter preset, but that’s kind of the point it in to be fair.

Reddit— neutral

Overall, there is no justification to 'upgrade', you can still use EQ when connected to PC/Mac

Reddit▲ recommend

everything else about this headset is perfect. The comfort, the mic and the sound quality are 🔥🔥🔥

Reddit▼ don’t recommend

They're awful like all steel series headsets. Poor audio, extremely shrill, no proper bass, built like a toy.

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

Redditⓘ good to know

I've seen quite a few posts about it, even on the SteelSeries forum and they said that they are not going to turn it off, so maybe you've never used your headset under 25% battery.

Redditⓘ good to know

all that was happening on my Mac, where I retried it 100 times, and nothing helped. I was able to finish that update on my Windows PC. Took a while, but that managed to resurrect it.

Redditⓘ good to know

I just wished they changed the shape of the dongle already. They block 1 usb port and audio port when used on my pc and they slightly block the vents when used on the ROG ally x.

Redditⓘ good to know

How does the clamp force compare to other headsets? I find most unbearable due to that. I was considering the Logitech G522 but i'd prefer the Nova but im worried about the clamp force

Redditⓘ good to know

I had the H9 and the mic was the worst in any headset Ive ever used. I just purchased the 7x (since it works with xbox and ps5) so hopefully those will be better. (coming from Arctis 7p)

Redditⓘ good to know

Thank you for the review, also new sub! Do you think the earpads from the nova 7 will work on the nova pro wireless? Just looking for a different material option other than the leatherette

Redditⓘ good to know

Haha 😂, same here.. I just type Gen 2 update for 7P in Google literally a few seconds after clicking "update" button.. but from what it read in comments it's not that bad.

Redditⓘ good to know

I don't know if you have the Gen 2, but it doesn't work the way you're describing. When I turn off the headphones, they remain the default output device -- it doesn't change to anything else.

Redditⓘ good to know

That’s incorrect. The nova pro wireless pads are an entire piece that snap into place on the earcup. You cant take the pads off the nova 7 and put them on the nova pro wireless, or vice versa

Redditⓘ good to know

I I just picked these up for $17 because they were on clearance + birthday gift cards. Been seeing a lot of mixed reviews but for the price they’re worth a shot

Redditⓘ good to know

bluetooth cant function well with a mic output and a game at once to solve this used the wireless dongle that comes with the headphones or plug them in directly

Redditⓘ good to know

I agree with you in the sense that nobody seems to bring up the different voice/sound prompts in reviews but disagree that the beeps the Nova 7's have is bad. I think they're awesome compared to a voice.

Redditⓘ good to know

Yep game sound is kept completely separate, so Bluetooth audio like music or discord chat, will be stereo, but the game sound will remain with tempest 3D etc

Redditⓘ good to know

You gotta switch it. It takes 3 clicks. Or hit WIN+G and on the left side 2 clicks to change it. Also, you need to disable your monitor as a sound device.

Redditⓘ good to know

I just used the usb adapter so I can use the ports in the back. The wire that hangs around sucks, but definitely makes the front 2 ports accessible again.

Redditⓘ good to know

So the pros are my favorite because you can hot swap batteries but these are my close second. As someone else said wicked cushion is the way to go definitely made these and my pros so much more comfortable.

Redditⓘ good to know

Yes it’s for everything. I try not to approach tuning for one particular game, because the headset should just sound good with everything so that was my approach. It will be great for what you are describing.

Redditⓘ good to know

Having the same problem, but ive found the headset is still outputting audio, its just EXTREMELY quiet. Ima try and see if I can connect this to my laptop, ill update if using a seperate device fixes the issue

Redditⓘ good to know

My ticket number is 1753133. But its the same thing. I will need to reinstall everything again and then in couple of weeks I will be back to square one

Redditⓘ good to know

I've used mine for years. Google Arctis 7 equalizer APO peace settings. You'll want to download equalizer APO and Peace to get the best sound quality out of this headset. Don't use the stock software to tweak.

Redditⓘ good to know

Have you tried a factory reset of the headphones themselves? There should be a hard reset button in the earcup if they're like the 2017 model of the 7

Redditⓘ good to know

Pressing the mute button on the controller does mute the headset yes. But it mutes it in the software, it doesn’t activate the orange button on the headset. It just mutes your mic in the system. So same effect.

Redditⓘ good to know

If you like it that's all that matters. But, if you have the 7, you should exchange it for the 7X if you're able and they are the same price.

Redditⓘ good to know

Whenever I use mine it has an audio stutter that happens about every 5 to 10 minutes, any ideas? I’ve seen some people say that it’s the 2.4ghz dongle having interference with your wifi router and that’s just stupid imo.
