“It's one of the very best in the market in terms of flow control, temp accuracy, ergonomics, design, build quality, and price.”

“After some time, it simply stopped heating. However, I like the design.”
“It is awesome and hard to beat for the price.”
“it just stopped working—turning the dial works, but pressing it does not, and fixing it is beyond my skills”
“I researched all of these then bought the oxo, it is brilliant. No regrets after 2 years of use.”
“they arent because they redesigned the model completely and now it has serious failure and other issues”
“It takes too long to dial temperatures far away from each other.”
“is anyone’s knob really sticky? In the sense it takes a lot of effort to increase the degrees?”
“The oxo pours much faster which can be good but makes consistent pours more difficult. The oxo definitely feels much cheaper but reliability is probably the same”
“I have the OXO kettle and it is Fantastic.”
“The handle snapped off the kettle the other day. Oxo said they can't replace.”

“I use the oxo kettle for pour over, and one of my favorite things about it is the built in timer.”

“I actually have been looking at an OXO one, but has been sold out for a while. A lot of coffee subs/blogs have great reviews of kettles as well if you have some others in mind.”
“Regarding the metric marks, why not just use a measuring cup to fill up the kettle? Then the OXO fits the bill. Also just out of curiosity, how would you use the custom temperature settings?”
“Yeah. I stay under the max fill. If I’m pouring fast to fill up a v60 then it’ll drip out....maybe it’s just mine! I’ll be in touch with oxo Thanks for the help”
“This one was on my short list as well. I will say that build quality is a factor for me. The Bonavita does have a bit of a chincy feel to it and from what I have read the Oxo seems more robust. The EKG as well, of course.”
“Control of keeping it below a full boil will however likely limit the risk of it boiling dry during that 30 minute "keep at temp" window.”
“I know this is really old, but I thought I would let you know that the gooseneck kettle is back in stock! I just received mine this morning. I got mine from the manufacturer: https://www.oxo.com/adjustable-temperature-pour-over-kettle.html”
““Dear OXO, I cannot believe that my kettle has stopped working after a MERE 8 years of daily use…””
“not at all, but I don't tend to fill it much (usually just a hair more than halfway) so perhaps that's why. I don't have it in front of me, but i'm pretty sure theres a "1L" line in it -- are you filling past that? I think that's considered "max fill" for the model.”
“I saw and held the OXO before purchasing the Bonavita, and preferred the aesthetic and balance of the Bonavita better. Personal taste is just that. If we all liked the same girl we’d be in trouble… The OXO extended warranty is more than double the price of the Bonavita on Amazon.”
“Reviews say oxo is even faster. That's my next purchase when my bonavita dies.”
“They have an auto off feature like most kettles but you're better off not using it since it still has to heat an empty kettle for a bit before it realizes. The Oxo is one of the faster kettles because it's pulling around the maximum amount if power possible without tripping the breaker.”
“I’m with you on those silicone pieces. I may just use a different top.”
“I’m actually moving from Fellow Stagg EKG to Oxo. Fellow’s kettle ergonomics are not great. Random overruns, can’t see max fill line when holding handle, handle ferrule gets hot, and takes a while to go from like 195 to 200. I know other people that have similarly moved and are very happy with the Oxo.”
“I like having a gooseneck because I like having more control while pouring water, because I'm a bit paranoid of spilling hot water all over myself and the table, as unlikely as that is to happen I'm content with my relatively basic no-name brand kettle, it's got different temperatures I could pick from,…”
“What are your lefty pros/cons between the two kettles?”
“It's really good to hear it doesn't feel cheap in person. I appreciate you checking the lid for me too. Even if the silicone doesn't touch the water directly, steam condensing on it still makes me a bit hesitant, but it's definitely going on the 'maybe' list now. That 1500W heating speed sounds amazing though.”
