Sonos Roam 2

Scored on 37 verified owner verdicts, from 394 comments read across 4 communities
TL;DR
Owners agree the Roam 2 sounds impressively big for its size, is easy to travel with, and slots neatly into a Sonos setup over WiFi, AirPlay or Bluetooth. But a notable share report it won't hold a charge and drains itself on the charger, along with connectivity stutter, fiddly setup, and bass that thins out at higher volume. Experiences are genuinely split, and at least one owner reported an alarming burning-smell defect.

35% of 37 verified owners recommend the Sonos Roam 2, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

Sonos app what a pain in the ass getting rid of my sonos system

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

Kind of lacklustre improvements tbh. Was at the very least expecting improved battery life

I think I'm one of the few who have never had a problem with the app (Sonos user since 2013).

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

Very disappointed. Not sure I can trust this being a viable replacement.

Love the green color and...that's it.

I just got one and configured it into my system in about 3 minutes. Painless

you cannot pair two in bluetooth so worthless

YouTube▲ recommend

these sound AMAZING in a stereo pair

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

If you have to download an app and register an account it's a bad speaker.

the roams are fine next to my bed. If I were just buying one speaker I'd buy the move 2. You'll be disappointed with one roam in the hallway - it's just not loud enough for full on listening

The App has been getting better and better again close to perfect i find now

You are cheating

What Hi-Fi? (affiliate)— neutral

The Roam 2’s surprisingly substantial sound and user-friendly design make it superficially tempting, but you can find sonically superior speakers for a cheaper price.

Just take my money 😭

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

personally I think it’s a ploy to cheapen manufacturing costs

No Google Assistant? WHY? 😲 I have that on my other Sonos speakers!

Roam2 hat wenig Akkukapazität, oder schlechtes Powermanagement. Trotzdem nett für den Garten zB wenn im Haus Programm synchronisiert läuft.

I heard sonos roam 1 and it aounded perfect.

The roam 2 is great for on the go throw it in a back pack kind of thing but they are leagues apart in terms of sound quality

r/sonos▲ recommend

They aren’t amazing, but they’re decent and easily portable. When we travel it’s nice to have a small stereo pair for hotel rooms and it works via Bluetooth (and WiFi)

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

I don’t ever recommend any of my customers ever buying a Roam

Очень плохая 👎..никому не рекомендую

But is the sound on the Roam 2 worth €170 - sadly not. The flip may be muddy but the roam has very little depth or weight at all to its sound to even get muddy in the first place. The benefits lie elsewhere see… I still love my Roam as I love to link it to the rest of the house

r/sonos▲ recommend

I am still able to listen to music from Apple Music, Pandora, and Spotify through the Sonos app to my home theater and Roam 2 with no problems

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

r/sonosⓘ good to know

I’ve had issues with my roam where if I leave it unplugged and i turn it back on and try to use it with other speakers I get the stutter.

r/sonosⓘ good to know

I would welcome this feature as an owner of a Roam 2 and Move 2. It’s incredibly frustrating to setup on a wifi network away from home.

r/sonosⓘ good to know

after tweaking the EQ, it sounds somewhat better.
