the sound alone is the one that is more important to me, that’s why i ended up buying the Flex

YouTube— neutral

I was able to eq it to sound about 90% as good as the Bose.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

What a disappointment, it's more of the same, Bose making rehashes

YouTube▲ recommend

Today I pulled the trigger on the flex 2 and I’m blown away.

YouTube— neutral

I would give them a break on 12 hours battery life.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

Thank you for mentioning the weak battery life. I returned my SoundLink for the Beats Pill

YouTube▲ recommend

The audio clarity this beautiful speaker produces is crystal clear and just beautiful to listen.

YouTube— neutral

Same battery, same charging speed, same output, no twitters

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

I hate fighting with the stereo pairing of the flex 1

YouTube— neutral

The speaker is okay, but they have just terrible customer service

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

I ditched my original Flex with Bluetooth 4.2, terrible battery life and slower charging for a Beats Pill

YouTube▲ recommend

Can’t go wrong with either. I got the Bose and called it a day

YouTube▲ recommend

it sounds so good, it is crazy

YouTube— neutral

Great sound but does anyone notice only sound coming from right side of unit

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

i see the sillicon cover peeling of from the places where the bass is more

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

What driving le crazy is that you have to physically push the button tu turn it on eveytime! No remote way to tun it on via Bluetooth history.. crazzy

YouTube— neutral

Seems like 2nd gen isn't much of an improvement in... anything really.

YouTube▲ recommend

they are completely dominant in the market. Simply amazing.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

when it connects to my macbook the sound is completely shit. It's muffled and can't even make what a video is saying even on full volume.

YouTube▲ recommend

BOSE wins by faaaaar. JBl is all about tinny highs which seems to please teenagers.....Meanwhile BOSE is more of a mature sound

YouTube— neutral

For a second generation there are some minor improvements.

Reddit— neutral

It would be the perfect speaker, sound quality, bassline etc...if only Bose hadn't decided to make the extra loud startup sound mandatory with no means to turn it off

YouTube▲ recommend

The flex 2 is definitely a better speaker and the EQ is a game changer, two of these paired in stereo is incredible, worth every penny

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

the left side of the speaker creates a s;ight unusal cracking sounds when its turned on

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

Thanks for your hard work. I just bought this product after owning a Soundlink Mini II for years and my God! How loud is the start up sound. Can’t believe more people haven’t complained.

Redditⓘ good to know

Even the voice of the woman saying stereo mode, left, right is weirdly stuffy and formal now. Why do companies change things that don’t need changing for the sake of it

Redditⓘ good to know

I have the same problem. My '24 took the update, but my '25 is still at firmware 4.11.26. I went in circles with the Bose chatbot. I will trust in that the speaker will update in the next 2 weeks.

Redditⓘ good to know

Updates are coming model by model, and the country is also important. Wait a few more days, maybe the update will arrive. Bose said they would bring it to all Soundlink devices by the end of March.

Redditⓘ good to know

This is a friendly reminder that the SE is different from a regular sound like Flex. It doesn’t have a microphone to talk to, but the sound levels are all the same, which is why this one is cheaper.

Redditⓘ good to know

Could you provide a review. I am confused between jbl flip 7 and bose flex 2. I mostly watch movies and series, and I need a rich bass while the vocals are clear.

Redditⓘ good to know

After the firmware upgrade my SoundLink flex Gen 2 speaker no longer Auto Powers off. I've come back to a 0% battery multiple times. Anyone else have this issue?

Redditⓘ good to know

Is there no way to check the battery when using them in stereo now? Even the app doesn't show the battery when connected to both unless I'm missing something

Redditⓘ good to know

Before the update, on startup it just made a slight "bong" sound, but now on startup it makes an annoying "boosh" sound. Wish there were options in the app.

Redditⓘ good to know

Totally jarring every time. Regularly use the speaker to start playing white noise tracks for sleep and get blasted by the speaker right as I’m starting the process of winding down. Firmware update please!

Redditⓘ good to know

It has been almost a year since you made this post and Bose didn’t even update the firmware to allow customers like us disable or lower the startup sound

Redditⓘ good to know

Tengo el mismo problema, incluso uno puede elegir la voz del asistente que antes me avisaba cuando me estaban llamando al celular, ahora no avisa nada!!

Redditⓘ good to know

Also when you used to press the Bluetooth button it would cycle through the devices you've paired with but now it says nothing, the light just flashes.

Redditⓘ good to know

The source device needs to be Snapdragon Sound certified in order for any aptX codecs to work with Bose products. It sucks this isn’t clearly outlined.

Redditⓘ good to know

I have two soundlinks both are manufactured on may 2025, still one is updated and for the other one, there's no update showing, now i can't pair them.

Redditⓘ good to know

I hate hearing this sound at night and in the morning. When I turn it off from downstairs I can still hear it. It’s maddening! Bose please fix this!!!

Redditⓘ good to know

If streaming music eg Spotify to this from an iPhone (which is in another room), can the flex control the songs playing eg next / previous song etc?

Redditⓘ good to know

That's the update, apparently. One minor inconvenience is that I can no longer get the speaker to tell battery percentage by holding power button.

Redditⓘ good to know

You mean rtings? their measurements are not valid in anyway, I done my measurements and bose is straight V curve with huge bass and treble boost

Redditⓘ good to know

Apparently the latest firmware removes quite a few handy features so avoid updating if you can. https://www.reddit.com/r/bose/s/dypLv4RjxG

Redditⓘ good to know

I've just received this speaker for free from my workplace and the turn on/off/connect sound always jumpscares TF out of me and my GF lol

Redditⓘ good to know

And you are probably right that a speaker like the SoundLink won’t use aptx to its full potential anyways, so I guess I should stop obsessing. Maybe I will pick up those QC Ultras after all :-). Thanks again for the feedback.

Redditⓘ good to know

I’ve got 2 of these speakers & one of mine wont update yet. Manufactured abt 6 months apart from 2024-2025, my 2024 (blue) one is the one that took the update first. If anyone has insight on why this is the case, I’d appreciate it!

Redditⓘ good to know

Just googled for this exact thing and your post came up, it's such an unbelievably annoying sound, especially when I want to listen to stuff quietly late at night and don't want to wake anyone up. Don't suppose you found an answer?
