Fluval Flex 9 Gallon

Based on 33 comments across 3 communities
TL;DR
A clean-looking, easy-to-run nano tank with quiet, capable filtration that owners enjoy, though the rear chamber traps gunk and small fish, and the stock light is merely adequate.

58% of 33 verified owners recommend the Fluval Flex 9 Gallon.

I loved how simple it was and how it shows everything off so well.

the filter causes enough surface agitation for shrimp and plants it’s was actually to strong in my opinion I ended up modifying it

my bettas like to let them selves get sucked up to the intake grids/ slats… which shredded my halfmoon male betta’s fins in one of the Fluval flex 9 gallons

The only note is that the filter output is strong and you may need to fiddle with it to make it more comfortable for the Betta.

For a larger option I'm OBSESSED with my fluval flex 9 gallon tanks. They just look so clean and you don't have to have the big ugly heater visible. The flow can be too strong though

I wish I'd just gone with a 10 long. The "flex" is such a gimmick, but the built in filtration system is okay I guess

you'll probably want to block the filter intakes with sponge or a screen so shrimplets don't get in there

This thing is a death trap in disguise and it took me a year to figure that out.

It's difficult to find unobtrusive equipment that fits in the 2" AIO chambers

The tank is small enough that really any coral could be in danger if it moves or if the current hits it right.

the flow is so wonderful - night and day, and it's dead silent.
