Osmo Pocket 4

Scored on 38 verified owner verdicts, from 1,806 comments read across 1 community
TL;DR
Most early owners are happy with the Pocket 4, mainly for footage they say clearly beats a phone and for how small and quick it is to shoot with. A few say it has replaced other cameras outright. The unhappy minority point to settings and D-Log that take effort to get right, color that can look oversaturated out of the box, and focus or tracking that lags, and some did not find it worth the upgrade. Owners are still early, so long-term reliability is an open question.

58% of 38 verified owners recommend the Osmo Pocket 4, based on real owner verdicts aggregated from Reddit, enthusiast forums, and YouTube.

Tried the pocket 4 and didnt look back. Honestly, you tend to develop bad habits of trigger happy shooting when youre on the iphone. Hence, the jump to pocket 4 was a breath of fresh air.

I just got it and is ABSOLUTE BS. In no world a company should require you to download their spyware app to activate or register when you can do it online. It overheats as well

it sucks that I can't leave the ND filter on all teh time. You literally can't put the mag-lock on it while there's an ND attached to the lens. Very bad design oversight.

Log is so hard when you can’t see what you’re recording looks like. I wish there was a better preview. It’s sooo uncomfortable for me.

If I didnt need the 2 angles, and just 1 camera, I would have stuck with the pocket 3 as I dont think the upgrade was worth a whole new cost of a camera

The unit looks good, feels well made, and the camera connected to the Mimo app without any hiccups. It’s my first dedicated camera and it’s been nothing but awesome.

Honestly I did lots of tests with everyday items and tracking and the osmo pocket 4 always lost out to the Luna Ultra’s tracking.

the internal mic on the device itself is pretty crap (like all gimbal / action cameras)

the faster startup to recording on pocket 4 is the main reason we like it. sure its only 6s vs 3s, but sometimes you need to start recording quickly.

I do still wish for zooms tho.

I was surprised by the quality of the photos from the Pocket 4. It's a big difference compared to older OPs. I would say they are better than from a mobile phone and much better than from action cameras like GoPro.

I bought my unit in Japan and sadly got the chance to open it only when got back home and mine has the same problem

this is the reason I sent my pocket 4 back. I just way prefer the video quality from my iPhone 17 pro max

The dynamic range is much better, so you don't get details lost in shadows or at sunset, plus the low light performance is improved. I love it.

I found no mode which worked out of the box unfortunately, way to saturated. And DLog seems unfinished.

I bought Pocket 4 and I knew about Pocket 4P. For what I use it for, the one inch sensor is really all I need. I have never felt like I was missing a zoom beyond the 4K 2x digital zoom that I rarely used on my very well used Pocket 3

unfortunately the touchscreen on my phone Ive accidentally hit hte record button and its stopped recording and I didnt realise until way too late. So ive missed out on action scenes because of this, but otherwise, the camera is great.

It's actually kinda annoying to take it off. Another down point is the wide angle filter.

Reddit▲ recommend

Apart from the decent image quality, it's quite stealthy, so you can get great walking content without people bothering you.

less than a month of purchase my osmo pocket 4 presented the same issue... frustrating!

I just bought the 4 creator combo and I am having a bit of buyers remorse.

Reddit▲ recommend

with the nd filters on the lens of the pocket 4, you can leave them installed and it will close fully unlike the pocket 3

Even as an amateur, I can tell that the video quality from the Pocket 4 is much better than a cellphone's.

I have videos outside in good lighting that have the same issues

Replying to myself now - MIMO is an essential part of the flow to add the proper colour intensity.

For me I bought the 4 because it'll be more than enough for my use case as a vlogging camera. The 4P is nice with the telephoto lens but I'm waiting for that form factor to mature. I don't want to pack the extra remote screen. I would prefer if the 4P had the Luna Ultra detachable screen. I got the creator combo.
