There is no excuse for bad screens in 2024.

YouTube▲ recommend

I actually like that this camera has no IBIS

YouTube— neutral

The active stabilization is much, much better.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

this ain’t worth it

YouTube— neutral

I always shoot videos with a tripod so I guess I'm getting the zve10 ii

YouTube— neutral

Yes I did overheat a couple of times at first in 4k/60 mode.

YouTube▲ recommend

As a Texan I can confirm i didn’t have any overheating issues when I use the Sony ZVE10 II

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

The lack of IBIS and only cropped digital stabilisation are big negatives, surely?

YouTube— neutral

it makes no sense at $1000 with no EVF

YouTube▲ recommend

this camera is very important since it sets a new standard for video capabilities on cameras priced at $1,000 or less

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

it neither satisfies photographers nor content creators. This is even worst than s9.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

No IBIS is a dealbreaker.

YouTube▲ recommend

my handy ZV-E10 II wouldn't be obsolete anytime soon

YouTube— neutral

lack of IBIS and forced 1.33x digital crop on that kit lens make it a bit too close for a walkaround vlogging option

YouTube— neutral

I find the menu of the ZV-E10ii overwhelming

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

No mechanical shutter, No EVF, No IBIS, but $1000 body only.

YouTube▲ recommend

No ibis means it’s great for fpv drones!

YouTube▲ recommend

4:2:2 10 bit and z battery !! Thats a yess for me.

YouTube— neutral

Stabilization isn't the best, but I like the colors and the focus ability seems pretty good

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

There is some weird just noticeable blurriness in this footage

YouTube▲ recommend

If I was being asked to recommend a camera to someone I wouldn't hesitate in mentioning this for most users

YouTube— neutral

I don't see overheating being a problem that I would have to deal with

Common problems & things to know

Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.

Redditⓘ good to know

Gimbal, or just don't walk with it and stabilize in post. The one thing you can't fix in post is if you walk with it without a gimbal - you get blurry frames when your foot hits the ground.

Hi! I have 100% same struggle as you! I have a Osmo pocket 3 and is looking for a camera and lastly i set between a6400 and ZV-E10 ii. Did you decide which to bought yet?

Redditⓘ good to know

Hi, thanks for clarifying (which disappoints me a little, haha). I completely agree with your conclusion, but I don't know if I'll ever have the chance to find something just as good for 500 euros...

try setting it to intelligence auto first with the fn button. next, try to learn the basics. learn the exposure triangle. then try switching to manual and experiment, its all about experimentation. glgl

Redditⓘ good to know

Guess you are in manual mode. Spin the wheel to rise the shutter speed, image will get darker so you need to rise the ISO or lower the aparture to get more light. Or turn the lights on in the dark room.

Redditⓘ good to know

Great shots! Which prime lens do you use? Would love to chat about your focus and metering setup as I own the same camera with Sigma 60mm f2.8 kit lens.

Redditⓘ good to know

Heard a lot about overheating at 4k/60. Does anyone have experience with this? If so, does the problem extend to 4k24? I want to get it for youtube and long form (1hr +) podcasting. It's down to this or r50v.

Redditⓘ good to know

Many reviewers said slog is not good for zve10 bcz of 8 bit… is this really shot in slog 2 and then color corrected during post? Edited in davinci?

Redditⓘ good to know

Zv e10 m2 is for videos only. I can't use the flash. If you shoot in artificial light like in marriages or street lights, you have to shoot in shutter speed less than 60 or you will get serious banding in images..

Redditⓘ good to know

Of course it's a good camera, but have you budgeted for lenses? Lenses will cost more than the camera. don't get them now, start with kit lens, but you'll need to buy lenses eventually, otherwise no point, just get RX100

Redditⓘ good to know

if you see this in LR, it might be the lens compensation thing. Look in the camera menus for lens comp and turn it off, or look in Lightroom for lens distortion and lens vignetting, and see what happens if you turn them off

Redditⓘ good to know

Turn on auto settings until you get the hang of it, then try manual mode after you watch some tutorials and get some experience shooting

Redditⓘ good to know

Read "Understanding Exposure" Its a SUPER simple book and it will LITERALLY change your photography life. It's timeless, it applies to digital and film and will explain shutter speed, aperture, exposure, iso, etc, with no BS.

Redditⓘ good to know

Drop your shutter speed, by switch to manual mode. If you are a beginner swtich to shutter priority mode and keep shutter atleast 1/50

Redditⓘ good to know

The original ZV-E10 I has a mechanical shutter, (it has worse rolling shutter so they put a mechanical shutter in to fix that) so for purely stills thats the better choice; an a6400 would be even better and an a6700 would be best

Redditⓘ good to know

If you record without active stabilization and can make fairly steady videos, with gyroflow you can stabilize in post-production

Redditⓘ good to know

The ZVE10ii doesn't have a mechanical shutter so it's not really suited for photography . The mark 1 on the other hand does.

Redditⓘ good to know

Better not use the camera stabilizer if there's really no need. Can usecatalyst browse later in post and it will look dandy.

Redditⓘ good to know

Your camera settings are waaay off. Look at YT videos on how to use a camera or just keep it on full auto until you learn

Redditⓘ good to know

Bro the shutter speed is like 5 seconds. That means your shutter or the curtain before your sensor is open for 5 seconds which means the sensor is busy for those 5 seconds and it is capturing everything it saw in that time(even the shake).

Redditⓘ good to know

Are you sure it’s the raw and not the software you’re using to open the raw? Care to share the raw so we can check it?

Redditⓘ good to know

Because the other thought I had is the software loading the RAW is the problem If it doesn't look like that previewing on the camera, then I'd say software. If it does, I'd say it's the camera itself. That said, I am leaning towards software.

Redditⓘ good to know

You shutter speed is too low you have it at 5 bring it up 125 for still shots and even higher for things moving fast

Redditⓘ good to know

I'd love to have a hybrid camera that prioritizes photography but is also capable of producing good (though not necessarily perfect) video quality. With all the options available, I thought asking here would give me more of an experienced opinion.
