“I think technically the 620s but the design of the ear cups means they have this bit that protrudes into the ear cups (I think the anchor for the headband) and it’s quite uncomfortable (at least for me).”

“I think technically the 620s but the design of the ear cups means they have this bit that protrudes into the ear cups (I think the anchor for the headband) and it’s quite uncomfortable (at least for me).”
“It is more open sounding than the 600/650 in fact, similar to the 660S2 and 560S in that regard. But, it has limitations in other regards. They each have strengths and weaknesses.”
“Crazy enough, the HD800s and the HD620s share the top spot in my endgame headphones. And the price difference is over €1,000. I just can’t believe what the HD620s deliver for €279.”
“I found that the 620S was very finicky with the seal. I use Oratory's Harman EQ and found it hard to get a good seal for the subbass. I actually found them very subdued in the subbass”
“Just got my 620s yesterday, I like it, which is saying a lot for a closed back. I think it’s easily one of the best closed back headphones not only in the price range, just in general.”
“I Had 620s as well, and sold it. Upper treble is too metallic for my taste, and I couldnt get a good seal and good low end extension in low-mid volume.”
“I also had the 620s for a week or two, and I liked the sound, but I had some issues with comfort that I couldn't get myself to ignore once I tried the 490/480 Pros.”
“I also found the bass to be anemic, and the highs a bit strange. Felt pretty claustrophobic without any of the deep sub bass rumble”
“They are great! The soundstage and separation is surprisingly good for a closed-back headphone, which is quite important to me as i am quite a competitive fps guy.”
“it is nevertheless a very good allround closed-back headphone. Right now, I prefer the HD 480 when I want to grab a wired closed-back Sennheiser headphone, though.”
“I had to return the HD620. I just find them to be too bright with the music I want to listen to. I’m quite disappointed by it.”
“I love my HD620s too! I was looking for closed headphones for myself for a long time and when I finally tested the HD620s I didn't look any further.”
“I didn't really love the sound so I returned it, but at least in terms of comfort it was decent to me.”
“without EQ it was 7.5 for me too but with EQ it bumped to 9 for me; coming from dt 990pro this surely feels an upgrade although its a closed back!”
“To me it sounds like a solid headphone, very precise imaging and strong noise isolation for gaming and for music its good but nothing spectacular”
“I ultimately let the 620S go because they actually sounded lesser to me than other headphones.”
“I have been using the HD 620S since mid May. I strongly recommend to test these cans in your local box store and make up your own opinion.”
“They're perfectly alright for Spotify and YouTube but, you might find the soundstage too intimate for an immersive gaming experience.”
“I love the way mine sound a lot but they give me this weird pressure build up soreness in my right ear after a couple hours.”
“The 620 are pretty fantastic. I don’t usually need a closed back set, but I do enjoy them when I really want to zone out and focus.”
“I had it and I found it to sound very odd and it cost way too much for what it offered.”
“definitely carry the classic closed in sound although very spacious and not as full sounding and muddy as most I've used.”
“It really lives up my expectations, isolation is very good, soundstage is bigger than on the FT1, and layering is very good.”
“I have the 620s and they are awful for movies there's no low end like you're thinking.”
Practical notes owners raise — setup, quirks, and issues to watch for. They don't say whether the person likes the product, so they're not counted in the score, but they inform the pros, cons, and who it's for.
“Thank you. I didn't think the way you described it. This is my first "audiophile" headphone, so maybe I need to give it a try. The only problem is I have only 14 days to return it.”
“I bought a case for my pair and also use the pouch it comes with. They are never left out. Wipe the pads with the pouch or grab a small microfiber cloth and keep it in the case.”
“620S definitely had a bit more passive isolation than the 480 pros. But the difference wasn't big enough that I would bother hinging a decision purely on the passive isolation”
“Maybe HD 660S2, probably the HD 620S. Before you start spending money, try out equalization. It's a bit of magic that has removed a lot of headache in the audio world ;)”
“Well my current headset is the HyperX Cloud Alpha S and Sony XM6 for wireless use. I want something balanced with good bass for watching and playing games.”
“I know what you mean. But you already have the 660S. maybe the 550 would just be a sidegrade. How do you like the 620S? How would you describe them?”
“NOTE: I'm trying to embrace the neutral signature but I heard HD 620s, Focal Bathys and some others, and the only thing I liked among them was the one with good bass - Denon D7200 (which was WAY out of my budget).”
“Both are fairly neutral. Soundstage on the 620S is actually wider than the 6XX, I was surprised too, but the 6XX has always been known for its intimate presentation despite being open-back. The 620S feels more spacious.”
“I'm reading about the 620S for my entry into the full-size world and so far the impressions of it have been good. Really eager to try it!”
“No. I tried the headphone recently and the bass is similar to the HD600. If you want bass, try the Sennheiser Momentum series headphones.”
“Thanks for the detailed answer. I just picked up a pair on eBay for a great price. The spacious earcups alone sold me on them.”
“Thanks for your impressions. How is the treble tuning in comparison with the 620S? Is it same level or different?”
“Hey! Thanks for the nice review. I'm thinking to get these for the same reasons you explained. I also have 5 cats, how are you doing so far with cat hair in these? I hope that with proper storage and periodical cleaning this shouldn't be an issue.”
“Can you please tell me how good the sound isolation? I have noisy neighbours and I cannot focus on work”
“This is a good starting point, but I alter the gains a bit to taste especially the low bass and treble.”
“However I do notice many other sounds with them and am currently shopping for closed backs. I just bought a set of the hd620s on Amazon for $246 (38% off right now) so we shall see. The hd660s2 really do sound great but only when your environment is quiet lol”
“FINALLY! A straightforward review of these damn cans. I’ll get them at some point. Thank you!”
“I know I'm replying to a 2 month old post, but I have a couple of questions that'd be a big help. Did you end up getting the lambskin earspads? (And if so how do sound and compare) Also, how deep are the earpads? Are they deep than the standard hd620s earpads. Thanks.”
“For closed headphones, the chassis of the 500 series is a much better fit. It is more lightweight, compact, and has a one-sided cable. The 600 series chassis can be completely assembled by hand, but this is not beneficial if you need to tightly control leakage during assembly.”
“I have never used a tube amp before. Which one would you recommend for the hd620s?”
“Since they're sort of the same chassie, do you think they'll fit the five series?”
“I got the 660s2, 569 and just got these, hope they are good as everyone says lol”
“They also eliminate the sub bass roll-off and tighten the bass up as well as taming the cybilance in the high end. You do need to EQ the mid bass down some with these pads though because they make the headphones a little more boxy sounding, but once that is done they sound incredible.”
“since you have lambskin, does it seal even better than the stock pads”
