Marshall jacks up the price just cuz of the brand.

If Marshall made a version with the thumping bass of the jbl and it's own soundclarity I'd buy it tomorrow

YouTube▲ recommend

it's, for me, definitely tuned for an indoor listening on a small room. They improved the bass

YouTube▲ recommend

The Marshall has the clarity and clearness of a studio recording

I feel you on the limited color choices

But I compared it to the Bose Soundlink Flex and that speaker sounds way better

Emberton II sounds better. Totally agree with you on that. The treble is a lot clearer

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

It was useless to me so I returned it for a Sony.

i like the sound quality of my emberton 2 at high volume but at lower volume it's very poor.

Emberton II sounds way better... Highs and mid highs are cristal clear compared with the EIII

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

Overpriced and overrrated. Low in volume.

I love the size factor on the Emberton but I love the sound quality on Bose.

I love the speaker, but the app sucks!

Got one two years ago and its fantastic. Built rock solid, quality sound, great battery life

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

The Emberton II is an awful speaker when you factor in price and performance

The Marshall is a great brand

It's great, the only issue is the same as with all such speakers: BASS is way too pronounced

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

Don’t buy the Marshall Emberton. It has battery issues.

YouTube▲ recommend

I just got emberton 2 and I'm impressed! Top speaker in the portable category

For better sound, you might be better off with a Marshall Emberton or stockwell, but I don’t think those are convenient to carry or to use.

YouTube▼ don’t recommend

will always make the sound a bit muffled.

YouTube▲ recommend

That creme version is sick

Marshall Emberton II- a close match for the bose Flex. Emberton II may have had a 'larger sound' but the clarity of the Bose is amazing.

After full charge falls 20% after 1 minute full volume.

My best suggestion will be the Marshall Emberton II, not III

Redditⓘ good to know

There is a Marshall Emberton II that is out in the US. It does seem the sound is similar. It does have about 8 more hours of battery life and uses BT 5.1 instead of 5.0. So, I don't know if the B is equal to II.

About the sound quality, I'm not sure if stereo configuration will give much better sound quality compared to Flip 6, not with similar size anyway.

Instead I'd recommend the Soundcore Motion 300 or JBL Charge 5. They're built to be quite durable and throw-in-backpack ready. The Motion 300's size, shape and strap may be more suitable for running, take a look & determine what he'd like.

I tried both the Marshall Emberton II and the JBL Flip 6, but I decided to buy the Flip 6, and I’m happy with my choice. In my country, the Flip 6 was priced at around $120, while the Emberton II was $190. I went with the Flip 6 mainly because of the price difference.
